Detroit at a Glance

I was in Detroit, MI recently for my girlfriend’s family get-together and thankfully we set some free time aside for some urban exploration of the downtown metro area. To be honest, I didn’t know quite what to expect of the city; my only frame of reference was from the news reports over the past several years of the sad and unfortunate financial decline of the city. While the financial decline will indelibly leave its mark for many years to come, there were signs that the city was bouncing back. One thing that amazed me was the incredible architecture of the buildings in downtown. I think I may have spent most of my time looking straight up at the magnificent architecture; for anyone who loves photographing architecture like me, you’ll love shooting here.
