Global Explorer Program with The Luxury Collection

Admittedly it’s been a while since I last updated my site, it just seems like these past few months have just flown by! So much has happened since my incredible trip to Cuba back in March; starting with being selected by The Luxury Collection and Beautiful Destinations to be part of their Global Explorer program. Both Kirsten Alana and I entered through their contest on Instagram and amazingly we were both selected! Not only was it an honor to have won, but I was also extremely excited since they were sending us both to a place that I’ve dreamt about visiting most of my life, Santorini. What topped it off was the fact that they also sent us to Crete for a five day whirlwind tour to both islands. I’ll publish a separate post on Crete shortly.

Kirsten and I flew from New York’s JFK airport directly to Athens and took a regional flight to Santorini. We stayed at the Vedema Resort, which is situated in Megalochori, approximately a half an hour car ride from Oia. Since it’s outside the most popular and touristy spot in Santorini, Vedema was a much more low-key and quiet resort – just our style.

During the course of our trip we met up with our fellow photographers and insanely talented content creators from Beautiful Destinations – Jacob Riglin and Sam Kolder. Jacob & Sam both stayed at the Mystique Hotel near Oia.  Since we all only had less than 48 hours on the ground in Santorini, we took advantage and tried to explore the island as much as we could. Even though we maximized the time we had, I still feel like we only scratched the surface of this historic island; there is still so much more to uncover and I definitely want to return again soon.
