It’s been almost two years since I got my first professional style camera and since then I haven’t been able to put it down. And after only taking photos purely for myself to post on social media and my blog, I was finally able to work on my first creative project with Kirsten Alana for iconic British luxury apparel brand Ted Baker as part of their first North American-specific Explorer’s Club campaign.
I can’t begin to describe how excited I was to hear that not only had she gotten the offer to work with them, but that they, after looking at my site & portfolio, had approved me to work on this project with her. This was obviously a huge deal for me, especially considering how much of a fan I am of Ted Baker as a brand and apparel line.
To bring this story to life, we were tasked with exploring unexpected places in New York City while sharing these experiences through our distinctive lens. Kirsten expertly wore their clothing (and did a great job as a model), while I captured it all on camera. We took photos ranging of product detail shots, wide location shots and product / body shots.
To visit each location, we spent two very long days over the course of a weekend traveling all over NYC, ranging from the Bronx, to the Upper West Side and Midtown Manhattan. Our exploration included The Hayden Planetarium, The Morgan Library & Museum, The New York Public Library, Morris-Jumel Mansion and the Nomad Hotel.
This being my first official client project where I collaborated with Kirsten, I’m really pleased with how it turned out and especially how satisfied Ted Baker was of our photos.
